Our School

Linda Vista Elementary is a STEAM Magnet School located in Linda Vista (Spanish for "Pretty View") a community in San Diego. It lies on a beautiful mesa overlooking Mission Valley to the south and Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean to the west.

As recipients of the 2016 Magnet Schools Assistance Program Grant, our 400 students have access to cutting edge STEAM instruction and state of the art facilities like the Maker Space, the Design Studio, and new gardens that serve as an outdoor learning lab.

Linda Vista Elementary is proud of its long history of bilingual education. Half of our students participate in a transitional bilingual Spanish program, starting with 90% Spanish instruction in TK with gradually increasing English instruction until 4th and 5th grade which are taught equally 50/50 in English and Spanish.

Additionally, we offer the full continuum of Special Education programs, from our earliest learners in ECSE to our Extensive Needs Classrooms for our students TK-5 who need more restrictive and supportive classroom environments.

We are also fortunate to have a State preschool on site where our youngest Dolphins have access to a diverse range of campus experiences from the very beginning of their educational career.

Built in the 1940's during the rapid growth of the wartime effort, Linda Vista's vintage architecture is a proud reminder of the school's past and its role in the beautiful community of Linda Vista.
